A resident of New Rochelle raising his two sons here, Adeel worked in the Westchester District Attorney's office for almost two decades and prosecuted cases at its highest levels. Having started as a line prosecutor taking down gangs and getting illegal guns and drugs off the street, Adeel understands the management style needed to motivate the office's 200 plus prosecutors and support staff. Having risen to the level of Deputy and then Bureau Chief, he understands the magnitude of the work the office does and the way its everyday proceedings affect real peoples' lives - both victims and those who are put through our criminal justice system. And having led the offices in Yonkers, White Plains, and Greenburgh, Adeel is keenly aware of the differences and similarities between our fabric of communities in Westchester County in a way that any District Attorney for the whole county must be.

During his time as a Supervisor in the office, Adeel oversaw thousands of prosecutions each year - on all levels from misdemeanors to violent crimes like rape and homicide. He built critical relationships with the police departments in Westchester County who serve as a crucial partner for the District Attorney's office. And, most importantly, he held the hands of victims who needed to see justice served. Adeel helped deliver that justice.

Since his time in the District Attorney's Office, Adeel has been in private practice handling pro bono cases for defendants in Westchester who cannot afford representation. This has given him a view from the other side of the criminal justice system that is important for any District Attorney to have.

As District Attorney, Adeel will protect women and children from domestic violence, he'll protect tenants from bad landlords, he'll protect workers from unscrupulous contractors, he'll protect seniors from elder abuse, and he'll protect our families and neighborhoods from crime wherever it exists. Adeel is running for Westchester DA because at this moment it's important to have a District Attorney that understands the balance between public safety and equal justice for all. It's important to have a District Attorney that understands a modern prosecutor's office and the present day rights of defendants going through the system. And it's important to have a District Attorney who is compassionate at the worst times in peoples' lives - whether that's the victims of crime or those accused.
